And you've got peace of mind like you've never known
But then things change and you're down in the valley
Don't lose faith for you're never alone
For the God on the mountain is still God in the valley
When things go wrong, He'll make it right
And the God of the good times
is still God in the bad times
The God of the day is still God in the night
You talk of faith when you're up on the mountain
Oh but the talk comes easy when life's at its best
But it's down in the valley of trials and temptation
That's when faith is really put to the test
For the God on the mountain is still God in the valley
When things go wrong, He'll make it right
And the God of the good times
is still God in the bad times
The God of the day is still God in the night.
Bless you, Miss Randle

ReplyDeletebtw, very nice thoughts in the song.. guess i muss be somewhere on the slopes...
Yes it's a view from my bedroom balcony. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteoutdated old me has never heard of the song. but nice lyrics.
ReplyDeleteI thought the spire in the pic poked through the more diffuse yet profound backdrop of the 'mountains'. Not to denigrate the institutionalised God-talk but i thought your pic said more than meets the eye.
ReplyDeleteambs, not to worry. There are so many songs and songwriters in the world it's hard to keep up.
ReplyDeletephilo, it saddens me to hear you label it "institutionalised God-talk" because it's very real and personal to me. And the picture was just an afterthought.
The spire was symbolic of "institutionalised god-talk" poking through the more diffuse but profound and personal encounters with God. The pic and the text as a montage of sorts-i thought-seemed to say that. Apologies.
