there's distance between us
and you're on my mind
as i lay here in the darkness
i can't find no peace inside
i wish you were here, holding me tight
if i had you near, it would make it alright
i wish you were here
'cause i feel like a child tonight
there's rain on my window
and i can count the drops
but i can't help feeling lonely
there's no way, no way that i could stop
each moment is a memory
time is so unkind
every hour filled with an emptiness
i can't hide
oh, there's distance between us
can't get you out of my mind
as i lay here in the darkness
i can find no peace inside
i wish you were here, holding me tight
if i had you near, it would make it alright
i wish you were here
'cause I feel like a child tonight

*waaaaaaahhhhhhh*
wonderful poem :-)
ReplyDeleteI thought "He" is already there in Aizawl. Whats with all the distance hullaboo then? :)
ReplyDeleteDear J, do check my latest post, I really need your input for the small project that I am undertaking. Thanx.
Ps. Check this link at E-PAO http://e-pao.net/epSubPageExtractor.asp?src=news_section.opinions.Opinion_on_Security_Booklet.Ethnocide_The_Great_Hibu_Fiasco
where they printed my article. I am extremely honored of course, but they entitled my article as "Kima read the article and blogs" instead of "Kima reads the article and blogs". I know it is extremely trivial but I am just itching to correct that small grammatical error. You're an English teacher, you know what I'm talking about right? Will it look bad if I mail them to correct the sentence?
By the way, natinge tun thlengin min la link lova? shallaaa.
Thanks guys. I just love this Fleetwood Mac song to pieces.
ReplyDeleteIllu, it's fine as it is...you read (past tense) the book and blogged. Readers good in English won't have any problems with it as it is. But there's an itty bitty error in your new blogpost. The usage of "slang" is both singular and plural so there's no such word as "slangs". Make it either "slang expressions" or just "slang". And would I be yowling about distance if he was here? Not likely. And I'll link you as soon as you start spouting poetry :P
Thanx for the correction. Changes made immediately. Phew, you saved me from a small embarrassment :)
ReplyDeleteI know, since it was entitled "blogs", I thought "reads" would be the right tense, or at least "blogged". Anyway, lets forget all that now. It was just a small itch. The itch is gone now. The "slangs fiasco" removed the itch! lolzzzz!
By the way, I did sprout out a poem once! Remember the "Ode to women" poem? :)))) Link Link Link! I want Link :)
ReplyDeleteoh oh oh, and there was the Mizoram poem too!!! That makes it two poems! Now I truly do deserve the link! :))
ReplyDeleteSpout, not spRout, dear Illu. But ok, you did write a couple of poems once so I'll add you. Don't know why you want a link when I don't really have very much traffic around here....which is the way I like it.
ReplyDeletehehehe... its nice to be linked :) Thanx for all the wonderful contributions J. Cant stay online long today. Just came to copy the contributed words, and I'll go back home now and update it tomorrow.
