A New Year's Prayer

Dear Lord, please give me...
A few friends who understand me,
and yet remain my friends

A work to do which has real value,
without which the world would feel the poorer.

A mind unafraid to travel,
even though the trail be not blazed.
An understanding heart...
A sense of humour.

Time for quiet, silent meditation.
A feeling of the presence of God
And the patience to wait for the coming of these things,
with the wisdom to know them when they come.

  1. its prayers such as these that make me wish "God, bless me with the company of those to whom thee bestow" :)

also, in your case, i suppose the request to God should have been framed as - "please continue to bless me with..." - isn't it?

lastly, why do girls have to ask for so many things all at once? what if God has a rule that says ok you get the first/last thing that you asked... ? simple case of demand/supply after all, ain't it?

  2. Well, in your case it would have to be the same I'm sure :)

Girls ask for many things at one time?! Cmon, that's common to both genders at this time of year! And I can't think of a single guy who always only asked for one thing at a time. And no dirty connotations intended.
