4 days into the new year

A new year resolution is hopefully hopping onto your treadmill on an early January morning for an 8 minute walkathon in three layers of woollies..

  1. !!! You should not have to make a resolution for getting fit and staying healthy!!! The exercise bit should come as naturally as getting up in the morning. Ditto for staying healthy. Go for it girl! Resolutely and without a new year resolution.

  2. Go set that treadmill on fire!I am the laziest person when it comes to exercise. The only exercise I get is taking the stairs instead of the lift.

  5. I know, I know, Loch, don't nag now. It's just so tedious and I've never been the athletic/ sportive kind, arghhh!

Haha ambs, me too, I always do stairs instead of lifts and feel pretty smug for being such a fitness nut :p

Picturesquer, i zing tlan hunah min rawn sawm kual ziah thin la oo

ku2, you're not fat, you don't have any extras to shed!! If I were you, I'd be seriously thinking about modelling swimwear :)

  6. Four days into the new year and I've realized the heavy feasting over the Xmas/New Year has bloated my stomach to beyond tolerable levels.. and by tolerable levels I meant to say I was still able to see my.............. feet looking from above but now i cain't so I gotta do something about it grumble grumble.

  7. Z walking around or up and down the hills is much better and more pleasant than doing a treadmill. I find treadmills and elliptical or cross trainers boring, boring, boring. I do not know the situation in your neck of the woods but if pollution is not a problem try outdoor walking everyday. Much better for the body and the mind, spirit and soul.

  8. Huiss! Me too in real bad shape - pants waists tight, bulging double tummy oozing all over. Let's try some more.

  9. mesjay, you made me laugh with that tummy oozing over part. It sounds very familiar but I can't imagine that on you somehow :D

Mosquito, same here. But in my case I can put it down to middle-age spread, what's your excuse, young man?

Loch, I bet you thought you had the perfect idea. And it sounds terrific except Aizawl is something of a concrete jungle up in the hills. No quiet, leafy, wooded hill paths around except out of town and you need an hour or sth to get there. For people with cars, it'd be great to drive to wherever and walk quietly for a while but for us car-less folks, it's a treadmill and not much else.

  10. My image of Aizawl is that of a perfect green idyllic town perched on a hill overlooking equally green tropical valleys! I completely forgot to factor in that bipedal primate having language and other useful skills but also the ability to convert the beautiful into the ugly!

  11. Check out these pictures http://i51.tinypic.com/fw6sr9.jpg and http://i52.tinypic.com/2lmwajn.jpg. Took these on my phone cam a few years ago but you get the general idea. Like I said - a concrete jungle in the hills :-/

  12. Checked them. Made me want to cry. Like I said I underestimated man's uncanny ability to destroy the beautiful. Mea culpa! Unfortunately it is usually men and not women. I hope you all can do something about it. Nice blue sky though.

  13. Thank you, Alejendro, va tlangval ve a :)

Loch, you're right, the blue sky is lovely. It's always like this in winter and has never ceased to amaze me. Probably one of the biggest advantages of having no factories and stuff to clog up the air. On the one hand, it makes for an economically backward state and on the other, a healthy and clean environment.
